About the New Hampshire permit test

The New Hampshire Driver's Manual states that the automated knowledge test has 40 multiple-choice questions with a 40-minute limit, and that the test ends automatically if more than 8 questions are answered incorrectly. The DMV testing page states that every knowledge exam requires a passing grade of 80 percent. New Hampshire issues no learner permits for cars; a person at least 15 and a half may practice with a licensed adult aged 25 or older.
